American College Football Network (ACFN) is a division of American Football Networks, Inc. (AFN) with roots dating to March 1, 1956. ACFN is the original and remains the nation's primary media outlet for all levels of intercollegiate football programs. ACFN offers broadcasting capabilities, football event managment plus gridiron marketing and promotion business services.
With the positive transition of the nation's No. 1 spectator sport over the last six decades, ACFN's management is staffed by student-athlete graduates from gridirons and newsrooms of the 1950's and 1960's. The organization has transformed the scope of its operations, recognizing the transition from leather helmets to modern head gear designed to limit concussions, shifts in the format of practice sessions with the emergence of qualified sport's trainers, the intensity of game-day actions, sophisticated offensive and defensive formations, not to mention the creation of the college sports infomaton profession that continues to develop various methods of producing and distributing game results and statistics.
ACFN is the owner and/or custodian of national and regional awards presented to individuals as well as teams, including the annual Lambert Awards that have recognized the top football programs in the East since 1935. Various categories honor administrators, athletes, coaches and journalists from all six divisions of college football, with many presented annually on the third Thursday of February during the Eastern Football Awards Banquet hosted at Met Life Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.
